We're a bit bummed.

We here at Lady A Fans have been dealing with a few issues. They started a long time ago but have recently just manifested to the point where we can no longer bite our tongues and sit by and watch things happen.

Stealing.
We've been dealing with this in some way shape or form ever since starting this blog/twitter/etc. People take our pictures, ones we've taken personally and ones that taken money or ones fellow fans have sent to us. All we want is the simple gesture of someone asking "Hey can we use ____ ?". Or even simply giving us credit for what we have provided.

Another area where people seem to steal is ideas and I know that has frustrated members of this team. Sure some ideas are common and can be used and twisted every which way, but it still brings the ones that have started with and ran with the idea pure frustration and not knowing what to say or do.

So please think before you do any of those things. It discourages many people and all we want to do is bring you our best and brightest!

Lady A Karaoke Contest!

Do you love dancing around and singing along to your favorite Lady A songs? Well then this is the contest for you! We are doing a karaoke contest. Just film yourself singing along to a Lady A song and send it in. And we encourage getting creative-perhaps shake your booty like Hillary does in the video for Lookin' For a Good Time. Maybe even re-enact a video or concert performance! Here are the list of rules that we've set for the contest:

1. Must be a song from one of the 3 CDs released (debut CD, Need You Now & A Merry Little Christmas) No live versions, covers or other bonus tracks allowed.
2. Only 1 song per video. No mash-ups of various songs in one video.
3. Can have multiple people in a video singing.
4. Must show the person/people singing in the video. No animation or using puppets in place of people.
5. The video needs to be of the whole song, not just a 30 second clip.
6. Up to 3 entries per person is allowed
7. Contest is open to all, not just fans in the US! I figure if you do an awesome enough job to win, I am willing to pay the extra postage for your dedication :)

A couple new rules that have come up:
8. This is not a contest for covers-any singing and playing needs to be done with the CD recording.
9. No karaoke versions of the recordings should be used. The music you sing along with needs to be from one of the 3 CDs outlined in rule #1.
10. Words should be kept original to the song. (this isn't a Lady Hazing contest, but maybe we'll have one of those in the future!)


Deadline to submit your video(s) is Saturday, November 13th. Simply email us your submission to ladyafans@gmail.com and we will upload all of the videos to our YouTube account after the deadline has passed. You may need to upload your video to senspace.com to send it to us due to the large file sizes. Voting will then take place to determine the winner. The prize for this contest is a signed debut CD!

Exclusive Lady Antebellum Show at City Winery in New York Kicks off

Musicians On Call’s Month of Music

September 16, 2010—New York, NY—Musicians On Call (MOC), a nonprofit organization that brings live music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities, announced a special performance by renowned trio Lady Antebellum at City Winery in New York on October 13, 2010. The show, which will benefit MOC, is part of the organization’s Month of Music initiative, a series of fundraising events in New York and Nashville during the month of October. An intimate and exclusive V.I.P event with special red carpet appearances by artists and celebrities who support MOC, the show promises to be a very special evening for Lady Antebellum fans. Individual tickets start at $150 and go up to $1000 which includes front row seats and a meet and greet with the artists. Tickets can be purchased at www.musiciansoncall.org.

You need to have access to twitter that's our main requirement we ask and that you be at the show obviously. Haha. We'll be having more details soon for this once we get all the confirmed dates. Refferral Contest!

We here at Lady A Fans want to celebrate this new message board the only way we know how...with a contest! We have a fair amount of members here but what's a board without more people to talk with! This contest will be a referral contest. That way we get some more people up in here!

Here is how it will work!:

1. Invite all your friends to this message board!

2. Get your friend to make an intro post and there will be a "referred by" thread and they will post who referred them in that thread.

3. The person you refer MUST be active! What do we mean by "active" ? They must respond to posts and start threads. We are making it that they must start at least 5-10 threads/topics for the month of August. These threads must be something of substance.

4. At the end of the month we will tally up and see who referred the most active members. The winner will be announced and they will win an E-Certificate for Napster for 10 free downloads and a Lady Antebellum Shirt, size Large. Second Place will receive a Lady Antebellum sticker.
